How Altaris collects, uses, and protects your personal information in compliance with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles.

Summary: Altaris collects information you provide when using the platform. We use it to provide the service and communicate with you. We do not sell your personal information. Your deal documents are encrypted and never used to train AI models. You can request access to or deletion of your data at any time.

1. About Us

Altaris (ABN 00 000 000 000) is an Australian technology company incorporated in South Australia, headquartered in Adelaide. We operate the Altaris platform at altarishq.netlify.app ("Platform"). 2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information you provide directly

  • Account information: name, email address, hashed password, and company name on registration.
  • Deal documents: financial statements, tax returns, customer lists, contracts, and other documents you upload for analysis.
  • Communications: messages sent via contact forms, email, or in-platform support.
  • Payment information: billing details processed by Stripe. Altaris does not store full card numbers.

2.2 Information collected automatically

  • Usage data: pages visited, features used, and actions taken within the Platform.
  • Device and browser information: IP address, browser type, and operating system.
  • Cookies: session cookies (required), analytics cookies (with consent), and preference cookies.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • Providing the Platform: processing documents through AI analysis and enabling Platform features.
  • Account management: creating accounts, processing payments, and communicating essential service information.
  • Product improvement: analysing aggregated, anonymised usage patterns. We do not use your documents to train AI models.
  • Customer support: responding to enquiries and resolving technical issues.
  • Marketing: sending product updates and newsletters with your consent and an easy opt-out on every email.

4. Deal Documents and AI Processing

  • All documents are encrypted at rest (AES-256) and in transit (TLS 1.3).
  • Documents are stored in isolated, per-account storage inaccessible to other users.
  • Your documents are never used to train or improve AI models.
  • Documents are deleted 90 days after a deal is closed or archived, or immediately on your request.
  • Specialists you book may receive an AI-prepared brief. They are bound by confidentiality agreements as a condition of joining the specialist network.

5. Disclosure of Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with service providers (AWS Sydney for hosting, Stripe for payments, email delivery providers), specialists (deal context only, under confidentiality), or where required by law.

6. Data Storage

Altaris stores data primarily in AWS ap-southeast-2 (Sydney, Australia). Where data is transferred overseas, we take reasonable steps to ensure the recipient handles it in accordance with the APPs.

7. Your Rights

Under the Privacy Act and APPs, you have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal information; opt out of marketing communications; and lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at www.oaic.gov.au. 8. Cookies

We use essential cookies (required for login), analytics cookies via Plausible (privacy-friendly, no cross-site tracking), and preference cookies. You may opt out of non-essential cookies via your browser settings.

9. Children's Privacy

The Platform is not directed at children under 18. Contact privacy@altaris.app if you believe a child has provided us with personal information.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
