Terms of Service

The terms and conditions governing your use of the Altaris platform, governed by the laws of South Australia, Australia.

Important: Altaris is a technology platform that provides analytical tools to assist your decision-making. Altaris does not provide financial advice, legal advice, or any other form of professional advice. Always obtain independent professional advice before making any acquisition decision.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Altaris platform ("Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms") and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform. These Terms constitute a binding agreement between you and Altaris (ABN 00 000 000 000), a company incorporated in South Australia, Australia ("Altaris").

2. Description of Services

Altaris provides a software-as-a-service platform enabling users to manage acquisition deal pipelines, upload and store due diligence documents, receive AI-generated document analysis, access a marketplace of independent Specialists, and book engagements with Specialists through the Platform.

3. Important Disclaimers — Not Professional Advice

Altaris is a technology platform, not a licensed financial adviser, legal practitioner, or accountant. AI analysis outputs — including red flag reports, SDE normalisation calculations, and deal health scores — are analytical tools to assist your independent decision-making. They do not constitute financial product advice under the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth), legal advice under applicable legal profession legislation, or any other form of regulated professional advice. Altaris does not hold an Australian Financial Services Licence (AFSL).

You must not rely solely on Platform outputs when making acquisition decisions. Always obtain independent advice from a qualified financial adviser, solicitor, and accountant before executing any transaction.

4. Specialist Relationships

Specialists are independent contractors, not employees or agents of Altaris. Engagements are direct contracts between you and the Specialist. Altaris facilitates booking and payment only and is not liable for the quality or accuracy of any Specialist's services. While we vet Specialists prior to listing, we make no warranty as to fitness for purpose of their services.

5. Subscriptions and Payment

Subscriptions are billed monthly in advance via Stripe. All prices are in Australian Dollars (AUD) and include GST where applicable. Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled before the renewal date. You may cancel at any time from your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We do not provide refunds for partial billing periods except where required by the Australian Consumer Law ("ACL") in Schedule 2 of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth).

6. User Obligations

You agree to provide accurate information; keep login credentials confidential; use the Platform only for lawful purposes; only upload documents you have the right to share; and not attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or interfere with the Platform's operation.

7. Intellectual Property

All intellectual property in the Platform is owned by or licensed to Altaris. You retain ownership of documents and data you upload. By uploading content, you grant Altaris a limited licence to process that content solely to provide the Platform's services to you. This licence does not include the right to use your content to train AI models.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law (including the ACL): Altaris's total liability for any claim shall not exceed the total subscription fees paid by you in the 12 months preceding the claim; Altaris is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss including loss resulting from reliance on AI outputs; and Altaris does not warrant the Platform will be uninterrupted or error-free. Nothing in these Terms excludes consumer guarantee rights under the ACL.

9. Privacy

Our collection and use of personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

10. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of South Australia, Australia. You submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of South Australia. Before initiating legal proceedings, contact legal@altaris.app to attempt informal resolution within 30 days.
